What the Mormon Church did in California is not only unconscionable, but illegal under laws governing non-profit organizations from financing political actions without paying taxes as all the rest of us have to do.
Mormonism is not Christianity, never was, never will be anything but the aberration of the spirit in the mind of one man and hundreds of thousands of sheeple who will believe anything. In this world, one can find believers for practically any sort of organized human behavior, much of it detrimental to the health and well-being of others.
I do hope someone sues the crap out of the Mormon Church for what they did to human rights of gay people using ancient bigots and their bigoted writings for their backwards beliefs that have no place in the modern world. Anthropologists and sociologists will tell you that universally around the world, now and throughout history, human beings produce about 10% of their populations as homosexual. This is God's Creation that produces these people but it is only the Abrahamic religionists highly prejudiced against female participation in any sort of ruling position that has falsified God's Creation to exclude 10% of the human population.
Boycott all Mormon-owned businesses until their Church changes to include humanity as God made human beings, not as Joseph Smith thinks God made human beings.

The Church itself never gave money to the campaign, only it's members. Churches are allowed due to freedom of speech to declare their moral views. Just not allowed to declare which candidate to choose.
I disagree, in my time in the Church, I have seen no "teaching hatred of gays". None, whatsoever.
Then where did Mormons get the idea that gay marriage is wrong? Out of the blue sky? I've engaged several Mormons on their "Speak with a Mormon" site about this and got no straight answer from any of them, except one, as they transferred me to others to handle the question then blocked my access, much like Heraldo does when he doesn't have an answer he wants in public. The one Mormon did point me to Adam and Eve implying their "marriage" sets the family standard for all time.
Mormons used to be notorious for their prejudice against black people. What happened to that? Now it's gays and they're saying they don't have any prejudice. "By their fruits ye shall know them" is the test Jesus recommends and we've seen the fruit of Mormon Mammons prejudiced against gay marriage.
