David Cobb--another Texan come to exploit Humboldt County

One Texan came to Humboldt County to exploit under-harvested old growth trees in order to get rich. Another Texan came to exploit community conflict in order to obtain political office.

Mr. Cobb writes his opinions in the Times-Standard with words one has seen used over and over again in the last 20 years by enviros attacking Pacific Lumber Company's owner out of Texas. One can only wonder why one man in Texas arouses so much animosity among Lefties but I guess a Great Satan is needed to mount a religious war which is what environmental activists actions amount to--certainly environmental protection or common sense doesn't enter their social change equation as witness the continuing failure of activist actions to stop the man in Texas from doing more or less what he wanted too all along with his Humboldt County land.

If environmental protection activism were a business, it would be bankrupt by now but unfortunately, environmental protection activism is not a business but more like a religion with religion's tendency to mistake myths for facts. A business cannot succeed when it's business plan doesn't work. But enviros "succeed" even when they lose because they don't have to win the hearts and minds of the general public, only the hearts and minds of counterculture and liberals who pony up the money that keeps enviro orgs going despite lack of success. It's a win-win situation for enviro activists and their orgs. They couldn't lose even when they did lose. "Well, we lost that court case (as if enviros ever willing admitted losing court cases) because the judge was in Maxxam's pocket. Give us more money and we'll defeat them next time.." Meanwhile old growth trees continued to be cut.

Said before and will say again, if a tenth of the effort put into enviro protest against Maxxam were put into figuring out how to regain PL back into local ownership, Palco would be our community's. But heck, actually resolving environmental conflicts is not fun for serious conflict addicts, the like of which comprise the majority of activists in Humboldt County.

Why "Communities for Peace" is a farce

Ellen Taylor often writes in our local papers promoting "peace" and "communities of peace" but her idea of "peace" means Leftist "peace" because every chance she gets she pushes the Leftist social war agenda such as she just did with her recent letter in the Northcoast Journal.

In total hypocrisy, she fans social war in Humboldt County while claiming to stand for "communities 0f peace". Like her political partner, Ken Miller, she is throwing gasoline on the community conflict over the EDP's killing of Chris Burgess in hopes of making the police look bad because the police in Humboldt County invariably side against political activists when activists break the law. It is textbook Leftist ideology to link police with capitalists so police are almost always targets for Leftist ideologues as is the case with Ms. Taylor and Mr. Miller.

But involving herself in the Leftist political war here in Humboldt County that divides our community instead of uniting it, Ms. Taylor makes a mockery of "peace communities". Real peace work requires lifting off the political blinders to ethical action. You can't represent peace and engage in social war at the same time.

The Solar Rail System

Imagine the highways and freeways gone. No cars, no trucks, no exhaust pollution, no noise pollution, no dead animals lying on the sides of the road.

Imagine no huge Cal-Trans budget and tax burden because the roads are gone. Imagine no more CHP tickets and no more fossil fuel cars.

Imagine all the money saved if California had a state-wide mass transit system that fueled itself with electricity generated by the Sun.

Imagine the thousands of acres of highway road beds turned into forests and organic farms and quiet villages where people and animals can safely cross underneath a quiet electro-magnetic monorail system where the monorail itself contains a thousands of miles long solar collecting system that catches, stores, and releases electricity from the sun supplying all the power needed to run both passenger and freight monorail trains throughout California.

This is the future. This is the promise of the Solar Rail System for the 21st Century.

I came up with the Solar Rail concept in 1976 and in 1980 went to a Solar Energy Fair in Ukiah or Willits to promote the notion as it was a new concept then and seems to be still new. Somebody had thought of solar powered flatcars on tracks but that's as far as it went. The solar monorail idea needs to be pursued.

Zionists remain in full control of the U.S. government

"When the news broke last week that former President Jimmy Carter is set to release a book highly critical of Israel, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi quickly issued a statement denouncing the views of her fellow Democrat. “With all due respect,” Pelosi declared in a written statement, “he does not speak for the Democratic Party on Israel.”

Pelosi, the San Francisco lawmaker who is poised to become speaker of the House of Representatives if the Democrats win control of Congress, spoke out after reading excerpts from an advanced draft of the book, “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid.”
Officials at Jewish organizations in Washington said this week that the minority leader’s attack on Carter is in line with what they describe as a straight-A record on Israel. Still, Pelosi has struggled to convince many activists in the pro-Israel community that she is not the “San Francisco liberal” her GOP critics portray her to be. And Republicans have been arguing that their best, perhaps only, hope of hanging on to the House is to convince voters that Pelosi would be a weak wartime leader."

Day of the Dead

Posted on Eric's, sniff, popular blog, and reposted here:

Eric, you say you are an atheist. I'm posting the report below as an small example of spiritual events that happen in my life that tell me God is alive and well and is still quietly running the show, the complete shebang from top to bottom, inside out, from birth to death, from Big Bang beginning to Black Hole annihilation.
***

This is the Day of the Dead. In honor of my departed mother and my wonderful daughter who share this birthday and in quiet honor to the Creator who guided me on this day to do the fifth sanctifying ritual that created Paxcalibur, God's Gift to humanity and the most amazing sword ever seen on earth.

From the Story of Paxcalibur-

The fifth step of the Paxcalibur ritual was not a baptism per se. It was done on the Day the Dead, All Souls Day (Nov. 2nd) of this year, 2001. It was performed on Indian Island in our county, the site of one of America's largest but little known massacres of Native American peoples and of the most gruesome ones.

I asked for and received permission from the Wiyot tribe to go to their former religious ceremonial island site that was invaded in 1860 by a white settler death squad which butchered nearly 200 Wiyot women, children and old men. The able-bodied men had left before, thinking the settlers were looking for them only and wouldn't harm innocent women and children.

This massacre and the Indian War period in California during the 1860's created a Holocaust for local tribes that still reverberates to this day. Tribes were extinguished all together, tribal lands taken, tribal languages lost, artifacts taken, and survivors mixed together into artificially created new tribes destroying tribal identities.

Paxcalibur, a weapon that has never been used as such will not be baptized here but was allowed to "taste" the old blood soaked soil of Indian Island where this tragedy of warfare occurred. Pax was stuck into the old blood-soaked ground of Indian Island to form a grave marker cross while a prayer for the dead and the living was given.

This fifth Paxcalibur ritual along with the 5th baptism in the Jordan River is symbolic of the death of the 4th World and birth of the 5th World in Hopi prophesy

-from the Pax miracles list

So, altogether, over 18,000 acres of forest land and coastal land has been preserved forever at three out of the four sites the Paxcalibur ritual was performed. And there may be more as the former Director of Sanctuary Forest was so impressed by Pax's record when I told him about it he asked me to do the ritual for another disputed land site of some 3500 acres.

July 1, 2004 Update:

A big step towards the full return of Indian Island to the Wiyot people happened on June 25th of this year when the City of Eureka turned over 40 acres of the island to the Wiyot tribe.

Here is a local newsmagazine photo of happy Wiyots with Indian Island in the background. The Paxcalibur ritual was done on Indian Island Nov. 2nd, 2001.

The Wiyot people have worked hard to reclaim Indian Island and they are the ones who should receive credit for this property transference. But I don't think Old Man Above, the Wiyot concept of God the Father, has forgotten them at all.
